Wheelchair exercise is an excellent way to practice and train your body. Children will enjoy racing in a wheelchair and run a specially designed obstacle course. In this case, the effort is much more important than winning because these children will enjoy a lasting impression when they can give their personal best. Women can also enjoy various sports described above, but since most of them lack the upper body strength, they should choose less demanding sports, such as bowling and badminton.

Swimming is an excellent wheelchair exercise for all ages. Some wheelchairs are lightweight and submersible and thus allowing swimmers to propel with their arms and upper body in a specially designed pool. Due to the body's natural buoyancy in water, it is not difficult to self-propel and swim. You should wear appropriate floatation device if you swim and additionally an experienced lifeguard in monitoring disabled persons should be present.

Another great wheelchair exercise is bodybuilding. Weightlifting, curls, and abdominal muscles are fun and good for your cardiovascular. If you prefer to do exercise at home, you can buy some wheelchair exercise videos from the internet or your local fitness center.
